Last weekend, we spent most the the day at Oxbow Farm, celebrating the arrival of autumn at their hoedown harvest festival. There were so many activities for the kids, live music, bobbing for apples, and lots of wonderful wandering on this 25 acre gem in the heart of the Snoqualmie valley. I can’t stress enough how awesome it is to have a place where they care just as much about protecting the environment and educating kids (and adults) as they do about growing organic, high quality food that serves a large CSA community and local restaurants/grocery stores. LOVE!
Highlights of the day included making a flower crown, purchasing lots of little gourds, seeing the sun break through (finally!) around 2pm, taking a hay ride deep into the veggie fields, pure joy of a 4 year old while picking out a pumpkin, and watching Ben bop to the live tunes. Oh yes, and I got to see Audra, who captured a lot of fun photos (which you can see on the Oxbow Facebook page)!
A perfect way to kick off the season!!!
